Faythe is facing the fight of her life. Not only are Jace and Marc at each other’s throats with her caught in the middle, the Shifter Council has charged Jace, Marc and her with trespassing, kidnapping, murder and treason. Depending on which side of right and wrong you stand on may depend on what you see as the outcome of the charges. But, can they prove their innocence, or at least justify their actions before an all-out war breaks out? A war will cause heavy losses on each side, but are they beyond a peaceful solution at this point?
Alpha is the action-packed, sorrow-filled and heart wrenching culmination to the Shifter Series by Rachel Vincent. Yes, the series has come to an end and she will wrap up the lose ends, and there will be a “Happily Ever After,” but it will come at a huge price. Days after finishing the book I am still reeling as to the twists and turns that Alpha has in it. I have to say that I don’t recommend Alpha as a standalone story, as you will just miss too much by bypassing the rest of the series. I found the Shifter Series to be a groundbreaking set of books in the genre. Ms. Vincent takes on a lot of stereotypes, breaks the rules and makes tough choices with her characters.
In Alpha, Faythe will end up with her mate for life, but the journey to figure out which man it will be will not be an easy one. She will also suffer more horrific loss and will be forced into a position that she may not be ready for but was born into. I highly recommend that you read the entire series and still recommending the series to friends after finishing Alpha. Therefore I give the highest praise I can give at Joyfully Reviewed and I Joyfully Recommend Alpha.
