Jesse, an Oklahoma undercover police officer, begins his day as any other.  What he doesn’t expect is to run into his beautiful neighbor at his favorite deli.  He has admired her from afar for over a year and he finally gathers the courage to make a move on the gorgeous Lindy Oliver.  After persuading Lindy to stay and eat her pastry with him all hell breaks loose.

Armed gunmen storm the deli killing indiscriminately.  The ringleader is out for revenge and his favorite target is the cop who put him away: Jesse.  That is not all he is after however, it turns out there is a complicated agenda in the works here with many lives vulnerable to the nefarious villain.  Jesse and Lindy are forced to lean on each other to survive but both are keeping rather large secrets that could have an impact on their current situation.  Jesse quickly learns that not only does his life hang in the balance but so do the lives of everyone he loves.  Will Jesse and Lindy be able to save each other and everyone else in the deli?

Tragedy and heroism are intertwined in Sweet Danger.  Cheryl Pierson produced a thrilling story with complex characters.  Jesse and Lindy share a sweet romance that formed throughout such a horrific event but I found many of the other characters awe-inspiring as well.  Mrs. Montgomery was quite the beautiful heroine.  I enjoyed her unending stoicism.  Watching these people faced with their own mortality, to see them fight for their lives and the lives of the other people held hostage was amazing.  We never really know what we would do in a terrible situation like this.  These characters had flaws but managed to rise to the occasion.  Sweet Danger is so intense you could almost feel the evil stare of the villain waiting to see what he will do next.  There are so many facets to this story it is difficult to do it justice.  I definitely do not want to give any part of this gripping thrill-ride away!  Sweet Danger has a little bit of everything: romance, danger, and plenty of spirit.  You will experience many emotions during Sweet Danger some sweet and some painful but all worth the read.
