A plague hit Earth four years ago leaving behind mass destruction and the human race almost completely extinct. Only the few humans who were immune to the plague now remain in hiding. All other humans transformed into something appearing part human, part wolf, and dubbed Werewolf Syndrome. The infected humans are territorial and savage, making it almost impossible to survive the current earth’s conditions for the remaining humans. Daniel had been one of the few males immune to the plague. Living out his existence in a small hidden community was rough, especially when it was mostly women and children. The few other surviving males were not gay like Daniel, making it all the more unpleasant. On a foray for supplies, Daniel is caught by a pack of infected men and taken to their compound.

While reading Apocalypse I honestly felt like I was reading what could be a summer blockbuster movie script. It’s dark and dreadful, dripping with conflict, yet has all the things that will make your heart flutter and your pulse race while you ride the edge of your seat…hot man love. Daniel’s story from getting caught to falling for an infected human ranged the scale from everything from scary to humorous, and everything in between. I had to laugh at Daniel’s antics, and there were times while reading I wanted to reach through the pages and tell him “shhhh” to keep him out of trouble. Apocalypse is an amazing story with a fresh twist on m/m romance novels, so I’ve chosen it as a Joyfully Recommended Read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Apocalypse and I look forward to the continuation of the Wolfman series.
