Samantha Fairchild’s life is going pretty good.  She has a good job waitressing at a high-end restaurant where the tips are great.  She just got her acceptance letter from Harvard Law School.  Unfortunately, in the blink of an eye Sam’s life is changed forever.  She is the only witness to a heinous murder.  The victim is a high profile citizen in Boston and she knows that the murderer will be after her when he discovers there is a witness.  With shadows lurking around every corner and her paranoia skyrocketing Sam is forced to turn to the last person she wants to for help—investigative reporter Vivi Angelino, the twin sister of the only man she has ever loved.  Zaccaria Angelino walked away from her three years ago after she professed her love to him.

Sergeant First Class Zach Angelino an Army Ranger was injured in combat losing an eye.  That’s not all he lost though, he lost his faith in himself as well.  When Sammi Fairchild slams back into his life stinking of fear it sets off all his internal alarms.  He is surprised by his possessive feelings towards her; after all he did leave her right after she uttered those three magic words.  He may not be capable of loving her the way she deserves but he is damn sure going to make sure she lives.

Zach soon realizes that protecting Sam might be the most important and difficult task he has ever had.  They must work together to unravel the mystery surrounding the murder but to do that they need to be able to trust each other.  While Sam is waiting for Zach to walk away again, he is afraid to let anyone get close since, in his mind, everyone he loves leaves him.  They may both succeed in losing what they need most…each other.

Edge of Sight will take you to the edge of your seat and keep you there for the duration.  Roxanne St. Claire has crafted an excellent beginning to what is sure to be a thrilling series.  Zach and Sam are prideful, passionate characters and they make Edge of Sight a shining star in the suspenseful romance genre.  I’m totally in love with Zach!  I was definitely displeased that he so callously left Sam in the dust after her confession of love but he wormed his way back into my good graces.  It is hard not to find compassion for Zach, not just for the terrible injury to his body but for the scars that have been lingering on his soul since his childhood.  Sam is the perfect woman for this brawny man.  If she can overcome the broken heart he left her with years ago, she can show him the healing powers of love.

Edge of Sight is filled with cool and intriguing characters that I for one cannot wait to learn more about.  There is a true sense of family in Edge of Sight.  The Angelinos and Rossi’s give me that heartwarming feeling you can only capture among the people you love.  There is just something so captivating about a family that fights for each other when the odds are stacked against them.  I absolutely loved the dynamic between all of them.

Edge of Sight isn’t all about love and family though.  It also harbors an assassin and one heck of a mystery.  I felt the need to get out my notepad and help find the clues right along with The Guardian Angelinos.  I love how Zach constantly makes fun of his sister Vivi’s name for her new investigative/security firm, a nice use of their last name.     Edge of Sight throws you into a hot bed of police corruption, mobsters, and killers for hire and doesn’t let you out until you unravel the mystery and discover the mastermind behind it all.  Edge of Sight is an invigorating spine-tingling adventure you don’t want to miss a second of.
