Many years ago Keirra Smith decided that no matter what she wasn’t dating any men associated with the law enforcement because of a devastating event that occurred in her past. She had managed to up hold her promise until Eric Brooks relocated and became a deputy in her small town. Although he was handsome, smart and made her body tingle like none other; Keirra refused to give into his cocky, alluring charm. Or, so she thought?
After suffering from a major burnout as a city cop becoming a deputy in a small town was just what Eric Brooks needed. The last thing Eric expected to encounter while living in his new town was his soul mate; yet, that’s exactly what he found in the beautiful Keirra Smith. But because of his historical playboy reputation and his current occupation, Keirra would not give him any time of the day. Nevertheless, Eric refused to give up on her because he was Playing For Keeps.
I felt Playing For Keeps to be a sensational heartfelt romance that kept me begging for more. The characters were humorously amazing, and the plot kept me quickly turning the pages eager to see just how the storyline would unfold. Eric was my type of alpha! He knew just what he wanted, and wasn’t afraid to go after it. He was persistent, charming and compassionate. Keirra was equally determined, likable, witty, and very well her own woman. I found myself on numerous occasions laughing out loud as Keirra and Eric butted heads over one thing or another, and then in the very next instant I was breathless with heated anticipation as their passion ignited. Wow!
Stephanie Morris definitely has a winner on her hands with this remarkable series. Playing For Keeps is the second story in The Smith Sister’s Trilogy and can be read as an independent. But once you dive into this novella, you will be rushing to get your hands on the other two books. I Joyfully Recommend the magnificent read!
