Lord Bastian Satyr has worked hard to obtain his position as director of the forum excavations in Rome. Chief among his desires is to find the temple where the famed vestal virgins served the gods. It is the find of a lifetime.
Michaela is an ephemeral, which means she can take as host a person who is about to pass away. She has learned a great deal about life over the many hundreds of years she’s been alive, but she’s yet to find that which she really wants, the stones that belong to her fellow vestal virgins.
Finding them, though, means she has to tussle with Lord Satyr, a man who warms her blood as no man ever has before. Will they be able to find love with each other as they battle to get hold of something they both want: the stones?
It’s hard not to love a book in the Lords of Satyr series, and Bastian is a fantastic addition to the tomes, each one a keeper on my shelf.
Bastian Satyr has to be one of my favorite characters in the series. He’s strong willed, knows what he wants, and isn’t afraid to go after it. The attraction he felt for Michaela, in her different forms, intrigued me and showed that he was attracted to her soul and not her body, which made him all the more sexy to me.
Michaela herself has lived through many hardships, and this book shows her going through more. But her will and drive show that she is strong, and in the end she learns to love and show her true self.
Bastian and Michaela are fantastic together. The only bad part is the fact the book is over, and now I have to wait for another one. This series is highly erotic and extremely captivating. Start at the beginning and work your way through. They provide hours of entertainment that leave you wondering what is going to happen next, and wanting to revisit the characters with a reread.
