Sawyer Compton left home to join the Coast Guard.  He never desired the cowboy life he grew up with.  Sawyer always believed he was made for adventure and the Coast Guard gave that to him.  His only regret about leaving Compton Pass is saying goodbye to his good friend Leah.  He always wanted more with Leah but he was afraid she couldn’t handle his extreme needs in the bedroom. How shocking to discover his sweet little Leah at a BDSM party in California.

Leah needs more in the sex department, she’s just not sure what exactly.  Her past boyfriends never truly did it for her and she’s tired of not being satisfied sexually.  The men of her hometown are only looking for a wife and mother.  Leah wants to be seen as more in and out of the bedroom.  Leah’s craving for more leads her to a weekend BDSM party that is so out of her box, but she’s desperate.

It doesn’t take long for Leah to realize she’s in over her head as the last person she ever expected to see snaps his brand on her arm claiming her for the weekend.  Sawyer, her childhood crush, laid claim to her heart years ago and now he’s going to claim her body as well.

A weekend of unadulterated sexual satisfaction comes to a halt as Sawyer discovers the secret his family has been keeping.  His father is dying.  How will Sawyer handle the devastating news?  Will there be a place in his life for Leah or will their California weekend be the end?

Western Ties is a magnificent ending to what has become one of my all-time favorite series!  The depth of emotion explored by Mari Carr and Jayne Rylon is stunning.  I absolutely recommend that this series be read in order.  There is so much going on in this family that you will truly miss out if you do not.

Western Ties starts things off with the exceptional titillating flare I’ve come to expect from this writing duo.  The sparks fly as Sawyer and Leah come face-to-face in the middle of a BDSM party.  Sawyer’s unresolved attraction and protective instincts rage as he witnesses Leah among the party goers.  This whole scene gave me goose bumps…the good kind.  This exciting sexual revelation between Sawyer and Leah, as the reader knows, is tempered with sadness because Sawyer’s father, JD is dying but Sawyer has yet to find out.  When he does the story is taken to another level.  You can feel the sheer desperation and fear running through Sawyer, and his anger towards his brothers is natural yet painful.   I love that Leah stands by Sawyer even though she doesn’t expect them to have anything other than a fling.   I felt that their relationship has a very natural progression throughout.  Sawyer may be the most romantic Compton brother.  He definitely made me swoon during Western Ties.

I love getting to feel like a part of this awesome family!  It is great to get to revisit all of my favorite characters.  I have fallen hard for these characters and I felt every emotion explored in Western Ties.  I find myself having trouble expressing what I want to say without giving too much away.  I am happy that I got the chance to experience such a powerful story.  While the romance made me exceedingly happy it was bittersweet marked by a staggering loss.  There is nothing better than laughter, lust, love, loss and a hope for new beginnings, Western Ties has it all!

Western Ties is a sweet and spicy recommended read!
