Once all the hoopla died down retired AFL player Declan Tyler and his lover Simon Murray were able to enjoy life together. Declan found a job on a popular sports commentator show as a star analyst while Simon started a new job with a small community TV station focused on the gay population.
Their relationship is everything they were hoping for; unfortunately things aren’t going so well for their nearest and dearest. Declan’s closest friend is dealing with a painful breakup and Simon’s besties are trying to wrap their heads around infertility issues.
Ironically, it’s when things are going so well for the couple that everything explodes in their faces. Their private life is put under the microscope one more time when Declan’s ex-AFL team mate and ex-lover Greg Heyward outs himself and his past sexual relationship with Declan. It’s bad enough Greg talks about their past, but he then goes on to embellish and lie about their time together. Being dragged through media frenzy is not Declan and Simon’s idea of a good time. Been there done that. Too bad Greg won’t shut it.
Take a trip back to Melbourne and fall in love all over again with Declan and Simon in Tigerland. The lovers step off the pages and come to life in this wildly entertaining yet completely separate follow up to Tigers and Devils. Stoic, decent Declan takes the high road in Tigerland when his ex spews vile lies. Simon delivers his usual snarky comments and threats but only to those he loves. As with the previous book there are great laugh out loud, snort milk from the nose moments, as well as deep, emotional dramas that question and prove love is alive and kicking. And for those who shy away because it’s an M/M story this one is perfect because all sex is implied rather than described. Declan and Simon are a treasure not to be missed so I Joyfully recommend Tigerland. Be careful reading and drinking milk at the same time. Just saying.
