Eva Tramell is adjusting to her new life in New York City and she’s ready to start her new job. She never counted on the first day of that job changing her life forever. As her eyes meet those of multimillionaire Gideon Cross she loses more than her train of thought. The intensity of his gaze stalks her thoughts even as she tries to avoid him but Gideon is not one to be denied and he has set his sights on Eva. However, these two harbor painful pasts. Can Eva and Gideon overcome the past to find forever in each other’s arms?
Sylvia Day rips open the human psyche in Bared to You. Bared to You obliterates the competition with its real, emotionally intense characters that deal with pain and pleasure with honesty. I felt these characters bare their hearts and souls in this story. Sometimes it was so intense it was painful to watch as they hurt themselves and each other with actions or words. Yet, this is what makes the story unique and unforgettable. I became so attached to Eva and Gideon that I actually hurt for them. I shared their pain and their joy as they fought to keep each other.
While Eva might come off as moody, oversensitive or even bitchy, she is real. I have seen this woman on the streets, been friends with her and even shared her irrationality at times. Relationships make us different, we do things we would never admit to and overreact, and sometimes run. I felt Eva’s pain as she struggles with the past that gave her insecurities and the happiness she so wants to hold one to.
Gideon also struggles with the past he doesn’t want to confront. Gideon is thrown by the powerful feelings Eva inspires. He is used to calling the shots and taking charge but when this woman walks into his life he is thrown for a loop. As he struggles to regain composure and hang on to his woman he realizes he may have to dig deep if their relationship is to last longer than the scorching sex.
I couldn’t get enough of their open, honest communication. Eva and Gideon work for every second of pleasure and happiness in Bared to You. And believe me there is plenty of pleasure as Ms. Day’s characters send the mercury rising in Bared to You! I am anxious to see what happens next for these two characters that I have come to actually love. I am also equally interested in Eva’s best friend Cary. I know the story there will be difficult to read but I want to this man find his happily ever after! Get ready for an emotional whirlwind as you flip the pages of Bared to You and be prepared to enjoy every second!
