Lily St. Claire has been away from Baton Rouge for more than a decade.  She has finally decided to move back home and reconnect with some of her closest friends.  Her best friend Tabatha is joyful that she has finally returned.  But, at the same time she knows that her big brother Daniel will probably finally find out the secret about Lily Tabby ahs hidden for years.

Daniel finds a serial killer is after her, and rather than woo her slowly he claims her as his mate.  But in doing so sets into motion more than one kidnapping.  In particular, the pursuit of Lily by well known author (and suspected werewolf serial killer) Malcolm Cole.  Will Lily forgive Daniel for mating her the way he did? As things heat up it is apparent that there might be more than one killer on the loose, or is there?

The Heat is the start of the Big Bad Wolf series for Heather Killough-Walden and an action packed start it is.  I was gripped from the start by the mystery around the passionate and mysterious dreams of Lily as well as the sultry Baton Rouge nights. I think Ms. Killough-Walden has a winning series on her hands.  I Joyfully Recommend this steamy, suspense filled shifter romance.  The Heat is a winner in my book.
