Kellan Scott is a Lycan shape-shifter and one of the Watchmen.  All his life Kellan has seemed to be the one to mess up when it counts and to spend more energy on his personal pursuits than to his Watchmen duties.  However, a picture of a woman in serious trouble has changed that.  Kellan is determined to save her and to prove himself to his Watchmen unit – even if the cost is his own life.

Chloe Harcourt’s genetics have given her two gifts that should have made her impossible to defeat, except they actually do the exact opposite.  Chloe is a Merrick and she is also a Mallory witch, one of the strongest witch clans.  But a curse placed on the Mallory clan has made it so that her powers are never at their fullest strength.  The one thing she needs to fully awaken her Merrick is the one thing that affects the curse – sex.  Chloe knows she is facing death one way or another until a sexy Lycan comes into her cell.

Kellan thought that getting Chloe out of the building would be the hard part, but quickly discovers that not giving into the needs that both of them feel is.  Chloe needs sex and blood to bring her Merrick out, something that before now Kellan would willingly give her.  But Kellan knows that if he does, it might become a bond that he can’t risk Chloe having.  With danger ramping up all around them, Chloe and Kellan finally give into their passion.  Escaping the compound and rejoining the other Watchmen just might be easier then discovering how to over come the obstacles in the way of having a life together.

It’s going to take more than a curse to keep two lovers from a passion filled life together.  Touch of Temptation brings Kellan and Chloe under circumstances that might have defeated a lesser couple.  Chloe just wanted someone to love and love her, only to be defeated by a family curse.  Kellan has taken the easy way out until he saw Chloe’s picture and learns about her.  I would have to say that the last place I would have ever thought to look for passion is in a prison cell but that is exactly where Chloe and Kellan discover it.  Chloe and Kellan know that passion is one thing but developing strong feelings for one another just can’t happen between them, though for totally different reasons.  I could feel Kellan’s determination to get Chloe out safely to the Watchmen as much as I could feel Chloe’s angst about risking Kellan to her curse.  I was drawn in and unable to look away as I watched Chloe and Kellan deal not only with the danger around them but also their future.

Touch of Temptation captures you with a passion that won’t be refused, along with some excellent suspense, fighting for the greater good and wraps it up with a love that defeated everything in its way.  Chloe and Kellan captured my heart and I know I won’t be the only one.  Touch of Temptation is Joyfully Recommended as one book you won’t want to miss.

This is one series that is firmly placed on my keeper shelves and I can’t wait for the next trio in this captivating series.  While you can read any book independently, for the best impact I would suggest starting at the beginning and reading your way forward.
