Abby Clark is stranded in the middle of nowhere. Now her bright orange “good luck” pumps seem to have failed her, or have they? This punk rock back-up singer has landed in Sentinel, Wyoming where she finds some of the nicest people she has ever run into, even if they are definitely carnivores. But, when this vegetarian needs a job and a place to stay they become the family she has long needed in her life.
One person who doesn’t seem to like her in town is the cranky man named Baer, who is acting just like one cranky ole bear. Though he does have his moments where he seems more like the teddy versus the grizzly, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to Abby when this change takes place. Pretty quickly she figures out she needs this Baer in her life and that she loves him. But will destroying his barn, more than once and trying to kill him with vegetables make this cattleman see the light and notice what Abby is really offering him?
I am not sure the last time I have laughed out loud so much while reading a romance story. It got to the point that my husband even started to ask if I was ok. Baer Truth is one funny and heartfelt story. Ms. McMaken does a wonderful job in telling a story that not only makes you laugh but also makes you want to cry when a certain Baer acts like a bear. I love the idea of a vegetarian suddenly in the land of beef and more beef.
