The lies seem to be holding, the secret safe as actor Lucas Merrifield, TV star of Black of Night and games programmer Trent Dennis settle into life together in L.A.  Lucas has been in the closet his entire life, while Trent’s family disowned him when he came out as a young man.  Trent is willing to be Lucas’ secret even knowing his lover will never admit to the world he is gay.

In fact, the only dark cloud over their lives is the continuing efforts of Trent’s old boss, Mac MacAvoy, from Neverwhere Games to destroy Trent’s chances of ever being hired as a games programmer again.  Thank God for Lucas’ bosses, Matthew Black and Rory Coltraine of BlaKCol Productions.  If it wasn’t for them and their lawyers behind Trent he would have thrown in the towel long ago, resigned to abandoning his talent with computer codes.

There is a good chance that Lucas might get hired to play the lead in a romantic comedy opposite Katie Stravros.  Lucas never dreamed he’d have a chance at a major motion picture and having Katie there would be a bonus.  Katie’s been his ‘girlfriend’ for a while now and it seems to be working although Lucas feels guilty about deceiving her.

So, it’s life as usual in LaLaLand with Lucas protecting his sexuality and Trent dealing with a bunch of lawyers.  Hopefully Trent will be able to work again one day and fingers crossed, nobody spills the beans about Lucas.  Of course you know what they say about living in a dream – at some point you have to wake up.  Maybe at least one of the lovers can keep their dream alive…

Unconventional is a story that will stay with you long after you finish the last page.  Provocative and daring, Unconventional grabs at your heartstrings and your moral compass until the very end.  Author T.C. Blue writes with an incredibly light touch, knowing when to pull the punches and when to hammer the plotline home.  Although this is the third book there is enough back story to be easily understood, but I urge you to read the first two books if only because they are also good. You can’t help but fall in love with Lucas and Trent, their strengths and flaws, simple humans, complex men.  Unconventional has deeply erotic lovemaking scenes, twists and turns, as well as so much more.  I Joyfully Recommend Unconventional.  This one is truly special!
