Honor St. Nicholas faced, and somehow came out of a hunter’s worst nightmare – two months in a cage at the mercy of vampires who didn’t know the meaning of the word. After her fellow hunter’s rescued her, Honor has tried to get back to the way she was before, though unsuccessfully. Now she has been ordered to one of the places she dreads – the archangel’s tower, to meet with the deadly vampire there.
Dmitri has spent the last thousand years working for the archangel who faced some of Dmitri darkest hours along side him. That experience took away the essence of the warm, loving man he was and helped him become the dangerous and cold vampire he is now, the right hand to a powerful angel. However, Dmitri has never forgotten the experiences that made him this way, and in his own way, he fights for the people who have turned into victims.
Honor and Dmitri work together to discover who is killing barely made vampires. And more importantly why they are showing in Rafael’s area. But as they work to unravel the mystery a strange attraction, and later passion begins between them. Dmitri is determined to help Honor not only to again become the strong woman she was but to also face, and destroy, the vampires who hurt her. Honor finds the strength to battle Dmitri, and slowly discovers the spunk that made her become a hunter in the first place. As both mysteries begin to be answered piece by piece, Honor is discovering yet another mystery that makes no sense, that she can’t quite put her finger on but feels very real. Dmitri swore long ago to never love a woman and yet there something about Honor he can’t resist. When the final answers are discovered, Dmitri and Honor both overcome the puzzles that brought them together. Most shocking and surprising to both of them is the final answer that proves love can last forever and overcome anything.
A scarred woman filled with fear discovers lasting passion with a man no one believes has a heart in Archangel’s Blade. Dmitri has always been a wonder to me about what made him how he was. I started reading knowing I could either love him forever, or hate him by the end of the book. After the first meeting between Dmitri and Honor, I knew I would love him. Honor had me rooting for her instantly, and I grew to be even more impressed with her as I turned the pages. I truly loved that there were three separate ribbons of suspense, mystery, and passion all going on at the same time. Watching as both Dmitri and Honor faced, and conquered the people who were involved with their worst nightmares had me falling even more for these two strong and loving people. The final revelation was one that proved to me that love is truly one of the strongest things in the world. No, I won’t tell you what but I have a feeling you will agree with me. Archangel’s Blade is a wonderful journey filled with suspense, passion, tight friendships, and most importantly, a love that couldn’t be denied. To Joyfully Recommend this book doesn’t seem like enough to tell you how much I loved it but I do highly recommend it. I can’t wait to see what the next angel is that Nalini gives us to discover in this amazing series.
