Rionna McDonald will do anything for the betterment of her clan, including marrying someone who appears to despise her.  Rionna knows she wears men’s clothing and fights like a man but she didn’t think she was so unappealing she would be rejected by the McCabe men.  Is she such a hardship to marry?  Caelan agrees to their marriage but makes it clear it’s his duty.  Rionna will do her best to make this marriage work while protecting her heart.

Uniting the McDonald clan may be more than Caelan bargained for.  It’s going to take everything he has to get these warriors in shape to fight Duncan Cameron in the upcoming war.  He doesn’t need any distractions such as his beautiful wife tempting him with her body and fighting skills.  Rionna hoped to protect her heart from Caelan but as she learns more about the brute it becomes more difficult.  Can this unlikely duo find love and happiness or will everything be ripped away by the evil Cameron before they get the chance to find out?

Oh my, I’m in awe of Maya Banks’ Never Love a Highlander!  Never Love a Highlander is officially my favorite romance ever!  I am aquiver with excitement as I think about this remarkable story.  My fingers ache to turn the pages once more so that I can experience the love of the gruff Caelan and warrior princess Rionna all over again.  I’m not sure there are enough words to express my love for this story.  My face actually aches from smiling!

I always knew Caelan was harboring deep pain.  It came through in his demeanor and actions. However, I could always see that gentleman underneath who just needed to be loved fully to break through.  I loved getting to explore his mind more in Never Love a Highlander.  Caelan simply makes my heart ache with his words and actions.  Now don’t get me wrong he pisses me off quite a bit as well but it’s all part of his unending charm.  Caelan so needed a woman such as Rionna who has a fierce heart like his and is able to stand up to him.  I adore Rionna!  She is ahead of her time; an independent woman who can fight and stand up for herself.  I love her stubbornness.  These two make the perfect couple.  Caelan and Rionna’s romance in Never Love a Highlander is splendiferous.

I spit words of anger and fear, shed tears of worry and joy and sighed with ultimate satisfaction while reading Never Love a Highlander.  I hate that this is the last of Ms. Banks McCabe trilogy for I need more.  It is rare that a series comes along that is truly great throughout and this one with a doubt is perfect.  Ms. Banks has written three beautiful gems with this series!  I HIGHLY Recommend Never Love a Highlander!! It’s not to be missed!
