The world knows Thistle “Tricks” Periwinkle well – what they don’t know is that the same woman who has been the public face for the Wyr world, is also Princess Niniane Lorelle, heir to the Dark Fae throne. Niniane barely escaped with her life when her uncle staged a coup and murdered her family to take over the throne. Now her uncle is dead, and even though she has no desire to be queen, Niniane knows her duty and has left the life she has known for so long to rule her people.
Tiago Black Eagle is one of the ancient Wyr – the Thunderbird of legend. A warrior who has little time or patience for anyone who goes against his advice Tiago can’t believe he lost the battle with one of the Wyr security team to go with Niniane to keep her safe. All that changes when he sees an attack on Niniane from Dark Fae. Heck the entire world saw that attack. One of the best trackers ever, Tiago sets out to find Niniane and whether she likes it or not – he is going to protect her.
Niniane finally agrees to have Tiago protect her – not that he was going to lose this battle now. What amazes both of them even more is the feelings that have suddenly sprung up between them. Niniane knows the Dark Fae won’t accept a Wyr, which is why she left to begin this journey alone. However, sometimes you just can’t deny what the heart wants. Tiago knows only two things as the time comes closer to leave the human world and travel to the Dark Fae home – there are still people out to kill Niniane, and he must have her as his mate to survive. The passion between them burns high and hot as the danger comes too close for comfort. When the final showdown occurs, the only question is, will they have to lose their love in order to win the day, or can love really conquer all?
A hidden princess and a legendary man come together with a passion that will rock more than one world. Niniane and Tiago do just that in Storm’s Heart. After meeting both Niniane and Tiago in Dragon Bound, I was expecting fireworks to fly and I was not disappointed. While I could understand the reasons why Niniane tried to do it on her own, I cheered when Tiago showed up and took over both her protection and her heart. I’m not sure which kept me on edge more, the passion between Niniane and Tiago, or the suspense of who was behind the attacks on Niniane. As the final battle unfolded, I was unable to stop reading until I turned the last page, and then I freely admit I immediately turned around and read it all over again. Storm’s Heart is filled with passion, suspense, humor, and a love that will linger beyond infinity. If you haven’t guessed yet, this is definitely a Joyfully Recommended must read in my opinion. I can’t wait until the next book in this world comes out.
