Jason is one of Raphael’s Seven and his position, as the Spymaster, is a very important.  One of Jason’s gifts lets him hear things anywhere no matter how quietly or softly spoken.  Another of Jason’s gifts lets him all but disappear while being in plain sight.  Both of these gifts and all his years as a spymaster will be needed when Jason undertakes his next assignment – one that takes him into Neha’s court to uncover a murderer.

Mahiya might be called a princess in Neha’s court but her life has been anything but a fairytale.  A nightmare might be a much better description of her life once she became a teenager.  Mahiya has never known love or tenderness except from the woman who was her nanny.  Instead she has been used as a weapon, and treated like less than any servant in the court.  Now Mahiya might just have the means to gain her biggest wish, to be free and to live her life how she wants.  All she has to do is match wits with the best spymaster in the Cadre.

Jason agrees to a blood oath to Mahiya but on his own terms and Mahiya agrees to it for her own reasons.  Very quickly both Jason and Mahiya learn that they have more in common than a few drops of blood.  As the hunt for the murderer goes along, Jason and Mahiya become an unbeatable team in solving the puzzle of who killed Neha’s consort and discover that two people who never believed that love would ever exist for them find just that in each other.  When an unexpected twist proves that Mahiya might be in even greater danger than ever before, Jason moves to keep her safe from all fronts.  When a war erupts filled with long held vengeance and hatred, only quick actions from both Jason and Mahiya will allow them the chance to explore the love that has filled them.

Passion has wings when a storm and a butterfly fall for each other in the middle of intrigue and danger.  Archangel’s Storm shows Jason and Mahiya love is for everyone and can show up just when you despair of ever finding it.  Jason and Mahiya just blew me away with how they overcame and survived the worse kinds of horrors.  I always knew that Jason would have to have a very special woman to understand him and put some sun into his shadows.  Mahiya was everything Jason needed and more, she was a strong woman who could take care of herself and those that she loves when needed.  I loved living their story as they discovered each other and help to heal each other’s hidden wounds.  The strength and intensity of not only Jason and Mahiya was just added to with the murder mystery they solved. I don’t always think of the word elegant when thinking about a book, yet I think that word describes Jason and Mahiya’s story.

Archangel’s Storm is full of intrigue, suspense and passion that won’t let you go once it has you in its grip.  It has also shot straight up to one of my all time favorites in the Guild Hunter series.  To Joyfully Recommend it doesn’t seem enough but it is the highest ranking I can give to Jason and Mahiya, so yes I Joyfully Recommend Archangel’s Storm as a do not miss book.
