Francesca and Ian go through a lot in a short period of time. Francesca’s journey of sexual awakening and self-discovery is intense. It happens quickly, but there’s enough background and insight to make it realistic. Ian is a complex character. It takes all eight stories to find out what really makes him tick, but I fell for him after the first. Francesca makes Ian think and feel, and together they make a perfect match. What I love about the Because You Are Mine series is the depth of characterization and the genuine emotion behind the sex. The eroticism works because the emotions behind it are so clear. Ian isn’t dominant because he just likes to tie women up, and Francesca isn’t submissive because she just likes to be tied up. Their unconventional relationship works for them on many levels and for many reasons. Because You Are Mine is a dramatic series packed with emotional and erotic intensity.
