Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett are embarking on a new chapter in their lives. It takes them to the mountains ofWest Virginiaand the plains ofTexas. Wherever they are, danger tends to follow. And this time there’s an overprotective tiger prowling around them, threatening everyone near. Ty and Zane are fighting for their lives and their relationship at every turn, and danger keeps knocking on their door.
While the tension and angst between Ty and Zane in the first five books of the Cut & Run series had its place and worked to give their story realistic, painful tension, the bliss between them in Stars & Stripes is what I’ve been desperately waiting for. Stars & Stripes is full of the usual suspense, action, and excitement, but it has a different vibe than the rest of the series, starting with Ty and Zane and ending with kidnapped tigers. The drama of how their families will react to their relationship makes things personal and creates tension and angst for them instead of between them. The reactions vary, but their unwavering, newfound commitment to each other is constant. They haven’t lost their sarcasm or stopped making each other crazy. Zane is still Zane, and Ty is still Ty. They’re just content now. It’s is the first book in the Cut & Run series that I wasn’t torn apart in angst. While the storyline may be less than realistic in terms of the tigers, the predicament these animals face in real life is not, and Abigail Roux does a good job of brining their plight to light without being preachy. If romance, suspense, and tigers aren’t enough for you, the Stetsons, cowboy boots, and tight jeans should. Ty in a Stetson and nothing else. Need I say more? Ty and Zane take a walk on the wild side in Stars & Stripes, changing their lives forever. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
