Jace Nichols is learning to manage life in all new ways since he lost his arm in the war. He’s been surviving on his disability but now he’s ready to get back into the working world and has found the perfect job as security for Blue Chip Technologies. Nothing could stop him from getting to this interview or at least that’s what he thought until he saw a woman being dragged into a dark parking garage.
Misty Morgan loves flower design and thrives at her job working with Tulle and Tulips wedding design. When she is attacked on her way to work she can’t think fast enough and is about to become a statistic until one very sexy hero comes to her rescue. It’s just too bad his attitude is so brusque. All her life Misty has been put into a box by her family but now she is finally doing what she wants. She wants to see more of Jace but they are constantly having a difference of opinion. He thinks she should cover up her assets but she wants to live free. They think one night of passion will get each other out of their systems but all it does is stoke the raging fire between them. But before they can be together each must deal with the painful issues keeping them from being happy.
Nikki Duncan’s Twisted in Tulips is a five star romance! It has everything the romance reader needs: a passionate couple, powerful emotion and a story that makes you swoon. Twisted in Tulips really pulled at my heart. Ms. Duncan has outdone herself with these characters. Both Jace and Misty are filled with such depth of character you can’t help but want a happy ending for them. Jace…Wow, what can I say, his character is potent, full of heat, heart and emotion. His struggle with the emotions he faces about the loss of his arm is heady and engulfing. What I love about it is the fact that it’s so very human. Romances shouldn’t be filled with only perfect couples because in real life people struggle with losses everyday like Jace’s. His reactions and actions feel real. He is still the capable, strong man he has always been but now he must learn to navigate life a bit differently. I thoroughly enjoyed this and the way his emotions transformed throughout the story. Misty is a woman that has struggled with some tough things and together they make a beautiful couple. It cracked me up how torn up Jace was about Misty’s short skirts! I love that Misty calls Jace on his crap. She doesn’t back down to the formidable military man. I want to applaud Ms. Duncan for giving romance readers an imperfect sexy hero to admire and lust after. People are rarely flawless and Twisted in Tulips proves perfection isn’t necessary to find everlasting love. Twisted in Tulips is my new favorite. I cannot wait to recommend it to everyone!
Twisted in Tulips is real heartfelt romance at its best!
