Niall Talbot is a Pyr with lots on his mind. He volunteered to take care of the remaining Shadow Dragons now that their only chance for renewal has been destroyed. And it’s not going as the Pyr thought it would. Niall is also mentoring a newly discovered Pyr who is not really trying too hard to learn how to be one.  To top it off he just found out that his firestorm has arrived and his mate is a small punk woman who wants to save everyone that she can.

Roxanne (Rox) Kincaid is a tattoo artist who has always loved dragons.  So of course when she discovered one of her projects could shift into one, she sort of adopted him. Rox’s past has made her give a helping hand to people having a hard time – her projects. Knowing there is one dragon-shifter makes her mind open when she discovers that there are more – especially sexy Niall who’s kisses make her toes curl and produces sparks – literally.

Niall believes that the firestorm is off until he discovers that Rox’s punk exterior hides a soft and giving heart. Believing he can wait to answer the firestorm’s call, Niall is set on finishing off the shadow dragons until he realizes that one of them he knows very well has focused on Rox and is determined to have her. The firestorm brings all the Pyr and their families running to help. However, it’s going to take Niall believing in Rox and their firestorm to end the threat that could take both their lives.

What does a clean cut Pyr have to do with a punk tattoo artist? Just a passion that can’t be denied. Whisper Kiss tells of Niall’s mating with the spunky Rox that included sparks and flames and I’m not talking about the dragon fights.  Ever since I had seen a description of whom Niall’s mate would be I have been waiting for this book and I was not disappointed. Reading of Rox’s childhood and how she overcame made me want to give her a hug. I had to laugh at Niall’s disbelief on just who his mate would be. Fighting every step of the way, it didn’t take too long until he couldn’t wait to touch Rox. I loved every step along the way as Niall and Rox learned about each other and their passion was more than just a destiny thing. The ending proved that Niall and Rox had a special connection that would never be broken. Whisper Kiss combines humor, snark, passion and danger that makes it hard to put down. I actually read it twice before writing this. So of course it’s Joyfully Recommend.

I’m now waiting quite impatiently for Rafferty’s book. I’ve wanted him to get his firestorm ever since I met him. If you haven’t read this series, you are in for a treat as you meet all the Pyr and their mates.
