Big brute, grizzly werebear, Chase Brownsmith has always believed that shifters should only mate within its kind in order to keep the bloodline pure. Simply put, Chase’s mate is going to be a female werebear. Or, so he thought. That is until, a perky, bunny shifter by the name of Miranda moves in next door and brings chaos into his preferred normal, grumpy life. Irritated to no end, Chase is determined to avoid Miranda at all cost; but, no matter how hard he tries, she continues to happily bounce into his personal space awakening his libido like no other woman has before.
Although she appears to be an energetic, somewhat airhead bunny shifter, Miranda is in fact a top-notched secret shifter agent appointed to protect Chase Brownsmith from being captured and possibly murdered by a mad scientist and she must do this all without Chase’s knowledge. Her mission is to get close to Chase by befriending him as a next door neighbor. But one look at her hot bear and all Miranda could think about is climbing into bed with Chase. Will Miranda be able to stay focused on her task and keep Chase out of harms way?
Eve Langlais’ Bunny and the Bear is a hoot! I found myself laughing out loud on numerous occasions. Miranda is woman of many talents. Even though her appearance is of a sexy, timid female, she is in fact a kick-ass, highly intelligent heroine that gives Chase a run for his money. Their personalities are total opposite – where Miranda is vigorously animated and lively; Chase has a mean, grumpy, lackluster nature. She challenges him at every turn and slowly but surely a relationship builds between them filled with lots of heated, erotic teasing interactions. I loved every moment of it! Ms. Langlais has started out with a bang in her Furry United Coalition series. I can’t wait to get my greedy little hands on the next exciting installment within this series. I Joyfully Recommend Bunny and the Bear as a thrilling alternate shifter novel.
