Mackenzie is a new Shapeshifter after a boyfriend does the unthinkable and turns her into a Shapeshifter, during a brutal attack. She is having a hard time coming to terms with her new body and all the changes that come with it. So she turns to the River Gap pride who has offered her guidance in learning the ways of a shifter.
Mackenzie is afraid to be around children or any human as she is afraid that she will brutally attack someone as her “sire” did.
Adam has been assigned to be Mackenzie’s mentor and guard. He has also found his mate, much to his surprise. But he will hold this information back until he is sure she has come to terms with her new life and the changes within her.
When Mackenzie’s “sire” comes to River Gap it will take everything that she has learned and the love she is feeling for Adam to make sure what she has come to care for will not be destroyed.
Heart’s Sentinel grips the reader from the first and keeps you intrigued to the very end. As the story wraps up you are able to smile and congratulate Mackenzie and Adam on how far they have come. The door has been left ajar with the possibility of seeing the couple in the future as well as others from River Gap. I can only hope that Ms. Schnyder opens that door and gives us more on the shifters in River Gap. I Joyfully Recommend Heart’s Sentinel and am extremely happy to have found a new and intriguing series and author.
