Eveline Armstrong is a headstrong woman but most think of her as dimwitted.  Eveline suffered a horrible accident and ever since she has been unable to hear.  But she has developed the rare talent of reading lips.  For her own reasons Eveline chose not to share her true fault with her family and when she meets the man she is being forced to wed Eveline feels hope.  Perhaps, there is a place where she will not have to hide her true nature for Eveline is not a meek woman.

Graeme Montgomery is disgusted by the King’s decision to force marriage upon him.  How could he ever have a happy life with the daughter of the family that murdered part of his? Graeme goes into this situation because he has no choice. He doesn’t expect the sight of the beautiful Armstrong daughter to affect him so.

As Graeme takes his new wife home his clan makes their feelings known loud and clear.  But Graeme is having a change of heart.  Is it possible that a Montgomery may find love with an Armstrong after all or will unseen enemies take everything away from them before they have a chance?

Maya Banks takes us back to Scotland for her new series The Montgomerys and Armstrongs.  Never Seduce a Scot is a stand-in-line-all-day for and stay-up-all-night-reading type of book.  Once you crack the cover you won’t be able to stop reading this fascinating romance.  Eveline Armstrong is just that a strong woman! I am so digging this character.  She is smart and brave and willing to put her heart on the line when it counts.  She doesn’t let a disability stand in her way when she starts her new life as a Montgomery.  Graeme Montgomery is a handsome and brusque Scottish warrior the type dreams are made of.  He starts this story very pissed off but it doesn’t take long for his tune to change.  Graeme and Eveline sparkle together.  Their scenes are beautifully written and they keep the reader engulfed in passion.

Ms. Banks delivers an impeccable story with Never Seduce a Scot.  This is the first story I have read where the heroine is deaf.  When I first read the synopsis I thought how could this possibly be told in a way that didn’t take the reader out of the story? Ms. Banks does it as she wields that talented pen and delivers and outstanding heroine and tells a romance to be reckoned with.  I could feel Eveline’s pain at not being able to share her secret with her family and her excitement at being able to start anew.  All of her emotions can be felt throughout the pages.  Graeme becomes even more irresistible as he falls for his wife.  I love the fact that he doesn’t try to coddle her. Graeme gives her the tools she needs to succeed.  Never Seduce a Scot is not all romance there is also a bit of danger and deceit.  You never know who to trust. There is a lot of suspenseful dramatic tension in this tale and it adds to the overall powerful story.  I will be counting the days until the next book in the series hits shelves!  I definitely want to read how the rest of the handsome men in these two families find love of their own.
