Rake has loved the King since she was first conscious of her role as Vhalgenn to him.  Her clan has always had the honor of providing the important duty to king and country.

Now Rake and her love will be tested as the Queen asks her to betray all that she holds sacred to further her people.  Will she be able to complete the task she is sent on or will the King catch and stop her.  But is everything as it really seems?

The Last Vhalegenn is not what I would call a typical happily ever after love story.  But, if you follow the story of Rake and her King you will see that it is the only way the story could end and have their worlds accept it.  So while it is a bittersweet ending there is a star crossed love that stays strong.  I was very intrigued by the overall story by Kayelle Allen and the narrator did a fine job of pulling the listener into the lies, betrayal, and honor that are the backbone to The Last Vhalegenn.
