Terri Fletcher has never had any
trouble meeting men, but keeping them is not her forte. One
night, after a friend ditches her and she ends up attending
an embarrassing workshop on meeting men alone, she finds an
injured, naked man on the beach near her house. He’s
strange, but undeniably attractive.
Destin MacCodrum is a selkie. After
surviving a shark attack, he loses his cap and ends up on
Terri’s beach. When she helps him, he realizes he wants
her. Can Destin find his cap and still keep Terri?
Beneath a Midnight Seawas
an interesting and action-packed read. Terri’s experience
at the workshop was funny, as were the interactions between
her and her very odd family. Her reactions to Destin, who
came across as decidedly strange at first, were also
amusing. Destin was an interesting and multi-faceted hero,
alternately arrogant and sweet. The love scenes are
frequent and hot. The only problem I had with this story is
that near the end, it feels like way too much is crammed
in. This is clearly the beginning of what promises to be a
fascinating series, and I think it could have benefited from
a bit more back-story. Still, this is definitely a
worthwhile read for anyone who likes the sea, magic, and
mythology.
