Caesar Romano is desperate to land the
job as Mallory Albright’s assistant in her art gallery so
the art show he’s doing for Jean Luc Pappineau needs to be a
huge success. Except things seem to be going downhill fast,
starting with Caesar’s ex-boyfriend Sheppard showing up
unexpectedly. When Jean Luc starts stripping, Caesar starts
worrying that Mallory will never hire him. The appearance of
detective Dan Green makes things worse. Why is he there? And
why is he asking Caesar so many questions? The next morning
reveals even bigger problems for Caesar when artwork is
missing and Dan is nosing around again. Caesar will soon
have more to worry about than that though.
Catch Me if You Can is an
outrageously entertaining and convoluted story with a cast
full of colorful characters that includes a caterer, a
detective, a few homeless men, and some half naked waiters.
It also has a labradoodle, a bad actor, a bust of Justin
Timberlake, and some clowns. Along with some hilarious high
jinks, Catch Me if You Can has an element of
danger and a very suspenseful mystery. LB Gregg’s hilarious
wit leaves me in stitches. She makes an entertaining story
with a variety of characters and situations that might
otherwise not work together. Dan’s filthy mouth is
incredibly hot. It’s not surprising that Caesar melts when
he uses it on him. Catch Me if You Can is the
first of a promising new series from one of my favorite
authors. |
