Hathir is a gladiator and at the top of his profession, one he has chosen as he has little chance of ever finding his soul mate and being “whole” again.  So physical exertion and exhaustion are what he has chosen to help make the time go by.  He never expects to feel the attraction or see his soul mate, as he has known since a child that she was from Earth and most likely unable to ever travel in the parts of space where he is.

Thea is a Terran, an Earth woman, who was one of those chosen to travel into space to represent her home world.  She is top in her field of data accumulation and while she has very good friends she has never been attracted to a man.  She does know there is something missing in her and when she meets Hathir she finds out quickly what it is as the other half of her soul is returned to her.  Not only that but boy will the sparks fly!  Too bad the cretin has bimbo’s hanging all over him.

Thea decides to ignore Hathir’s advances and goes after her role of maid of honor at her friends wedding with gusto.  Now it seems not only will she have to have a sing-off with Hathir but she will have to “fight” him in combat to determine which of her friends will rule their marriage home for the first few years.

Entwined is a fascinating story with the prime storyline revolving around the idea of your soul splitting and you sharing your soul mates soul while you grow up.  I found this fascinating as well as the Mer-thaka people and how they journey from sea to land, and am looking forward to more stories with their race in the future.  I was a little surprised at how quickly part of the story wrapped up but others might not find this.  Even with that I was enchanted by the overall storyline in Entwined.
