Genie is on what is supposed to be a standard fuel component run.  While it is always a concern to transport fuel makings this trip was supposed to be rather easy and straight forward.  That was the plan, until she and her crew are viciously ambushed.  What she definitely doesn’t count on is to have a mercenary ship come to her rescue. As most mercenaries want something she is off to find out what it is.  What she doesn’t expect is her supposedly dead ex-lover to be at the helm of the ship.  So while he has come to their aid he has a lot of explaining to do, not the least is why he is not really dead.  So she takes him prisoner and even follows his advice when it comes time to try and save what lives are left.

Dante knows when he answers Genie’s distress call his undercover mission will most likely be blown.  But, he will take the unraveling of six years of his life rather than see the only woman he has ever loved be brutally attacked.  But, will she listen to his explanations and believe him or will she cut her losses and move on?

High Octane is an action packed ride into undercover work and its consequences on those left behind.  From the dynamic start to the conclusion you will be wondering how things could ever work out for this duo, that is if Genie will even let Dante live.  Ms. Scott has a winning story on her hands and all sci-fi romance readers will want to get their own copy as well as look for more stories by Ms. Scott.  I thoroughly enjoyed High Octane and think you will also.
