Maria Ravensford is a Dhampir on a
mission of vengeance. She is out to revenge the death of
her younger sister at the hands of Rogue vampires, and she
will use every skill she has to make this happen.
Marak the King of Vampires and a
Warrior to boot is tired of being fixed up with vampire
women, especially ones that are to be a good political
match. He knows all want him to produce an heir but he
wants it on his own terms. What he doesn’t count on is
running into the petite spitfire who is out for vengeance.
He is mesmerized by her and does manage to save her from
death in the nick of time, but he doesn’t count on his need
to mate with her.
What will happen when Marak takes Maria
back to the Kyn and claims her as his own?
I have mixed feelings after reading Dark Embrace.
I loved the overall story and Ms. Carter’s writings have
definitely found a fan in me. But I kept feeling like I was
reading an offshoot of J.R. Ward’s Brotherhood Series.
There were enough similarities that were they people they
would be step siblings or cousins. This might just be my
feelings and if this type of story is one that you enjoy
then you should pick Dark Embrace up. As I
stated Ms. Carter wrote a good solid story with sexy heroes
and strong heroines. |
