Opposites Attract…
In one corner was Erica Johnson. A
fourth grade elementary school teacher who was not afraid to
stand up and fight for what she believed in, even if it
meant going head-to-head with a US Senator. In the other
corner was Mark Newman, a Conservative Senator and war hero
veteran who believed that were still things worth dying
for. Mark wasn’t the type of man to let a dare pass him by;
so, when Erica interrupted an important hearing with her
opposing opinions of the war and issued a challenge for him
to visit her inner city school classroom and to explain to
her class why war was necessary Mark accepted without
hesitation. It soon became apparent to both Mark and Erica
that opposite opinions of politics was not the only thing
that stood between them. A passion ignited deep within that
neither could ignore. But, before their relationship could
move forward, Erica started receiving nasty, threatening
hate mail that caused her to rethink having an intimate
relationship with “the enemy”.
Talk about the difference between night and day. In every
way imaginable Erica and Mark were on opposite ends. If
Erica said go right, Mark wanted to go left. Yet, no matter
how hard they tried to fight it; neither could deny the
red-hot chemistry that instantly bloomed between them.
Unfinished Business was a thrilling suspense that
kept me hanging on the edge of my seat, eager to solve the
mystery of whodunit and why it was important for the
couple’s relationship not to survive. Author Karyn
Langhorne also kept the plot intriguing with the love/hate
relationship between Erica and Mark. It was a joy to watch
their entanglement with each and every turn no matter how
small or large the issue. Despite their countless
disagreements, Erica and Mark were perfect for each other
and their romance was just as hot and erratic as their
differences in opinion. Enjoy! |
