He
may be the captain of the transport ship, but that doesn’t
mean Alvix knows how to fix anything on the ship. That’s
when Lieutenant Cooper walks up and offers to repair the
part if he and his men can have passage on his ship.
Normally Alvix prefers to keep to himself, except time is a
factor here since he’s trying to leave the station as soon
as possible to avoid a confrontation with lowlife Weldon.
There are so many different types of people in the galaxy,
but Alvix has never seen anything like his passengers. They
are human, yet metal. Cooper explains they submitted to a
military experiment to improve soldiers, however, none of
the team expected the results - turning them slowly into
metal men.
Alvix is rightfully furious when Cooper tells him where they
need to go because Tongass is a forbidden planet. It’s
going to be incredibly dangerous to retrieve anyone at this
point. The Galactic Military unsuccessfully tried to oust
the ruling family by force and two of Cooper’s men were left
behind. Nobody would have believed that Alvix would play a
pivotal part in retrieving the men. His life will weave
into the team’s as dangers spread in front of them, in part
because Alvix has a secret of his own. A secret that the
Galactic Military is willing to kill for. Too bad Cooper has
his own plans for Alvix and they don’t include anyone but
the two of them.
Exciting adventures and stirring passion abound in
Soothe the Burn. Understated emotional turmoil is
the key in this character driven tale. Soothe the
Burn is so unique, so original, that I had a hard
time putting it down. There are plot twists, action, and so
much more. Love isn’t openly discussed by the team, yet
author T.A. Chase tells the story in such a way that readers
absolutely know where the undercurrents are going between
the men. Soothe the Burn is a highly
absorbing, inventive tale of tormented souls searching for
love and redemption. Science fiction and romance blend
beautifully. |
