Ever make a snap decision you regretted after a bad relationship break-up?  Wonder how a submissive who is released from his Master for being too submissive recovers from self-doubt and insecurity?  Signing onto a scout ship as a civilian xeno-cartographer with military personnel might not be an option available to everyone, but it’s the choice of the main character telling his story in What Worse Place Can I Beg in Your Love?

Sent on a mission to collect topographical data on a planet with no diplomatic relationship, the Submissive and his escort, Joe, are captured. The Aliens are truly scary in appearance with thin needle shark like teeth, seven-and-half feet of muscle, a four-vertebrae-long mobile tail, and raptor-like legs.  Proportional all over as well.  Joe is released, but the Submissive is kept and chosen as a pet by one of the Aliens. 

I found What Worse Place Can I Beg in Your Love? engrossing and didn’t want it to end.  We never learn the Submissive’s name or his Master’s name, but we do learn how the intricate relationship of Master and submissive is formed and how the bond can be made so strong as to become love, even among Aliens and with language barriers.  Highly recommended and enjoyable read.
