Earth is a shell of what is used to be;
It has been strip-mined and is now a fuel source for an
alien metal/organic race of beings that have forced what is
left of humanity into the stars. But now humanity is ready
to fight back and while it might not save them, it will
defiantly strike a blow to the Imber ships if they take out
their fuel supply. So Francine Beaumont, the defacto
Admiral of one of the fleet of human warships is part of a
plan to do just that.
Francine is tired and while she knows
what she is going to do is most likely a suicide mission she
feels that it is better than doing nothing. If only her
ships cook, and best friend John O’Shaughnessy would
understand why she is all for this mission. What she
doesn’t know is that not only is he her best friend but he
has been in love with her for years. And if she thinks that
she is going to go on a fools mission alone she has another
think coming, he isn’t going to let her out of his sight.
Now suddenly the scope of the mission
has changed slightly and she is shocked to find out she is
not alone on the skiff heading out into space. What will
happen if they find out how they really feel about each
other and it is too late?
Best friends can make the best lovers
and couples, and Metal Reign shows this
nicely. Frankie is one super strong and efficient woman
who is not afraid to work with her team, compromise when
needed or take a stand if it is called for. She is also a
woman who understands more than she might let on. I
thoroughly enjoyed her battle with both the Imbers and with
her friend John. If you are a fan of Sci-Fi stories then
you will want to pick up Metal Reign and
prepare yourself for a fast paced action packed adventure. |
