Crystal Hayes is
tired of all the hype her looks attract. So when she makes a
delivery for her parents company to a NASCAR event, she’s
surprised when she meets a man who actually looks at HER, not
just her looks. Larry Grasso, is not quite the black sheep of
his famous racing family, he’s just different. As a college
professor, he’s never really been part of his family’s racing
dynasty. He’s also a widower who’s never looked at another
woman since his wife passed away. So, he’s stunned when a
chance meeting with Crystal throws him for a loop. They find
themselves dating but their families couldn’t be more against
it! For one thing, Larry is much older than Crystal and has
grown children, a fact which drives Crystal’s mother crazy.
And Larry’s son believes that Crystal is a gold digger. Add to
this the ongoing drama with Crystal’s unstable sister and
brother-in-law, and all the odds are stacked against Crystal
and Larry being able to make a relationship work. But somehow
that doesn’t stop them from falling in love.
I loved
Overheated! Barbara Dunlop delivers a story that
easily had me cheering for Larry and Crystal. Finely drawn out
characters make the age difference seem unimportant to the
reader as they become enthralled in the happy ending that is
so flawlessly delivered. I’m happy to recommend
Overheated to all readers who are looking for a story
that will leave them feeling good long after the last page is
