After six years and his stint in the Navy, Kody Winter is back in town.  Amazingly enough, the woman he came back to find is also back in town.  While their summer romance was more of a fling for the wild, youngest Winter boy, Rose Leighton somehow came to mean more to him than he realized and now that he’s found her, nothing will stop him from making her his again.

Rose can’t believe it when she meets up with Kody back in Bandera, Texas.  She only agreed to move back to her hometown with her sister and brother-in-law because she knew Kody was in the Navy.  Kody had broken her heart six years ago when he announced he was joining the Navy, never even discussing continuing their relationship. Now that he’s returned, he’s pursuing her as if he wants to pick up where they left off, but things have changed.  Rose is older, more wary, and has a secret that could ruin any relationship before it even has a chance to develop.  But Rose never could resist Kody…

Winter’s Rose is classic Ruby Storm story, and thank goodness!  This author so easily creates characters that grab your attention and describes emotions that will tug at your heartstrings.  Rose and Kody have a past that occurred when both were young.  They each made mistakes, whether in communication or because of reckless youth, that they’ve had to live with for six years.  Still, when they find each other again, it’s certainly sizzling.  I really loved the fact that these two have a chemistry that has survived years of separation and only seems to have gotten hotter.  Winter’s Rose has got it all and definitely deserves a Joyfully Recommended Read!
