Fashion photographer Finn, is in the
mountains of Montana. Running a shoot he hates for his boss,
when he meets stylist Josh. Immediately, he and Josh click
both personally and professionally, and despite Finn’s
numerous issues they begin a relationship. Finn, however, has
never wanted to accept that he’s gay. As well they live on
opposite coasts. Can their relationship survive the many
obstacles they face?
Between Want and Need To is an absolutely
beautiful story. Finn and Josh are very different
superficially, with Josh being openly gay and Finn being in
denial, but at the same time they are very similar. They both
have scars, Finn’s emotional and Josh’s physical. Though
Finn’s past is truly horrifying, Kris Dylan did a wonderful
job of dealing with Finn’s childhood of abuse and his slow,
painful journey to healing. The story provides a journey for
the reader as well, and I alternately teared up, smiled, and
even laughed out loud over the course of this book.
Between Want and Need To is an uplifting story of the
redemptive power of love, and well deserving of being a
