Ellysetta Baristani’s life has changed
totally since Rain Tairen Soul swept out of the sky and
claimed her as his truemate. The adopted daughter of a
woodcarver and his wife, she’s always been afraid of magic.
Yet it’s always played a part in her life. So much so that her
parents, thinking she was demon-possessed, had an exorcism
performed when she was a child.
Now that she’s to marry the King of the
Fading Lands, Ellie’s magic keeps making appearances, and she
doesn’t know what’s happening. She thinks the Shadow Man, the
man who haunted her dreams as a child, has come back.
Rain knows Ellie has magic in her, but he
doesn’t know the extent of it. As more and more things happen,
he knows she’s very powerful, he just doesn’t know the extent
of it. Together they will discover the truth, and it will
have a powerful impact on the whole world.
Lady of Light and Shadows
is the second book in the Tairen Soul series. It continues the
story of Rain and Ellie, and how they are learning to accept
their bond and love for each other. Like the first book,
Lord of the Fading Lands, this novel pulled me in from the
start and kept me up reading late into the night.
Ellie is so beautifully drawn that I
couldn’t help but feel her pains and her joys. And Rain is so
fiercely protective of her that it made me wish for a Tairen
Soul of my own.
Lady of Light and Shadows
captures the readers’ hearts and doesn’t let go. If you
haven’t read this series, you’re missing out on the start of
what will be one of the best fantasy series to come around in
a long time. Ms. Wilson has earned a Joyfully Reviewed
Recommended Read from me, and I’m anxiously waiting for news
about book three. |
