Bryn Case is a dive instructor and a cliff diver in St. Thomas.  Which might seem a bit odd when you figure she is a bargained demon and a Glacies one at that, but there is no way Bryn can live without being around the water.  Bryn trusted the wrong man and after learning that harsh lesson, and losing her soul, she has just been living day to day.  Getting caught up in any type of a relationship is not something she is looking to do.

Sailing all over the place and needing to stock up on supplies, Kael decided to set anchor at St. Thomas for a couple of reasons.  Of course Kael picked a beach that is private and for resort guests only, but whatever.  On his first night there, he happens to see one of the cliff divers, Bryn, and he feels her call to him and his element.  Not really what he needs as he also knows that Bryn is a lesser demon – a species he hates because of the past.

A late night cliff dive and a steamy goodnight kiss start both Kael and Bryn on a journey of discovery – of each other.  Kael quickly realizes that Bryn is his mate and while they both have huge reasons to not want to bond with the other, the passion and emotions are just too much to ignore.  Kael and Bryn are ecstatic about how things seem to be working out, but the test is soon to come – how will his family take to Bryn?  Kael also has another reason to head for home – Bryn’s soul.

I have been waiting for book 2 of the Elemental Dragons since I closed the last page of the first book.  Deep Water turned out to be even more than I was hoping for.  I was actually not sure if I would like Kael’s story because he was so snotty and even a bit of a snob in the first book, Fire in his Eyes, however he turned out to be a male who needed that matching part of his being.  Bryn was badly hurt and used by the last person she trusted in a close relationship, but something about Kael and his affinity with the water had her throwing caution to the wind and giving Kael a chance.  The equal parts of playfulness and passion between Kael and Bryn was gripping to the point that I read Deep Water in one sitting just to discover what was going on.  While I won’t tell what happened, I have to say that I absolutely loved how Kael retrieved the one thing that would make his and Bryn’s love the absolute it could be.  Once again the Price sister’s have taken a branch of their unique universe and given us a wonderful look at two of the special people in it.  Deep Water is an instant favorite to be re-read time and again; a definite recommended read.

While Deep Water can stand alone, take my word for it and read this series in order.
