Bethany Munro had not laid eyes on Ian
Rockwell, the man she was secretly in love with, for three
years. Seeing him again at a ball with a countess on his arm
shocks her to the core, but she does her best to carry on as
normal. This is harder than Bethany expects because when his
eyes meet hers across the crowded ballroom, all of the
feelings Bethany felt for him three years ago that she tried
to forget and suppress, come back tenfold in a matter of
seconds. Escaping the throng, Bethany tries to get away but
to no avail when Ian follows her. What begins as a flirtation
turns into so much more. When the smoke clears, the lovers
find themselves facing espionage and danger, and life as they
know it, no longer exists.
I love Melody Thomas and her historical
novels. I know that every time I pick up one of her romances
that I will be entertained, on the edge of my seat and treated
to a fantastic love story. Sin and Scandal in England
was that and so much more. Anyone who has ever yearned for
another person can instantly relate to Bethany and her love
for Ian. Ian, a dashing and bold hero, was so much more than
a good-looking male lead. He was loyal and protective, and
while his job kept him from Bethany for so long, his heart
kept her memory warm. |
