The mortal Psyche, and her husband,
the god Eros, are in love, but apart, due to the machinations of his
mother, Aphrodite, and her
evil sisters.
But Psyche decides that she won’t
let Aphrodite control her life. She works to get revenge on her
sisters and her mother-in-law. Eros, who learns that his mother is
behind the split with his wife, plots revenge on her as well.
When Psyche and Eros meet again,
Psyche makers Eros work for her love, and learn valuable lessons.
Psyche, meanwhile, has pledged herself to work for her
mother-in-law, which leads to some tough situations.
Mortal Retribution
is an interesting continuation of the Goddess’ Revenge
story, Book 1 of the Mythos series. I loved the way Psyche grew in
this story, standing up for herself and setting her mother-in-law to
rights. I was a little disturbed by her mission in Hades, but
enjoyed watching her best Aphrodite at every turn. Eros also grew
in this tale.
Readers who read Goddess’
Revenge will enjoy Mortal Retribution.
Readers new to the series need to start at the first book, and will
enjoy this look into the lives of the Greek gods.
